Retro throwback vintage blogging

I don’t remember consciously deciding to end to end my blog back in 2016; I just stopped posting as often, and then not at all. As social media took over the space that had formerly been dominated by blog networks, I posted more on those sites than on my own. It was easy to do. The responses were instantaneous and without even trying, I amassed a larger audience than I’d ever had back in my blog days.

Social media has sometimes gotten me contacts or publications, but it’s also contributed to the global rise of fascism, so that shakes out about fifty/fifty, right?

I somehow find myself here again, back where I left off. My previous blogs were limited to a given topic, but this one is going to be more general. I’m planning to write about my experiences as I try to teach myself instructional design, but I’ll also be writing about a wide range of topics that interest me. I don’t want to promise any given topic at this time, but if you’ve followed me on social media or read my writing elsewhere, you probably have some idea what I’m about.

So yeah! This is basically a “hello, world” post to announce that I’m going to try to do this thing again. I hope you’ll join me.
